Yamill County, Oregon - October 26, 2008

This ride was lead by Russ, who has been exploring the back roads of Yamhill County for years and knows them like the back of his hand. The ride stared with four of us meeting in Keizer, Oregon and crossing over the Willamette River on the Wheatland Ferry
. We then road through Hopewell, Oregon and followed Eola Hills Road into Amity, Oregon. The views from Eola Hills Road are outstanding in all directions. It is must ride road if you are ever in the area.

In Amity, we met up with four other bikes and one passenger riding with Dave. We headed out of Amity towards Carlton, Oregon where we then turned west into the Coastal Mountain range. Being late October the trees were all turning color and made the views beautiful. Fresh leaves had fallen and as the bikes in front of me traveled along Nestucca River Road leaves would scatter. Wish I had a video camera with me to catch the images.

Russ then lead us to the top of Bald Mountain then back into the valley where we ended up in Willamina, Oregon for lunch. We then rode through the farm lands of the valley before ending back up in Amity.

From Amity the group split. Those from Dallas, Oregon road south on Hwy 99W home while the rest of us got to enjoy Eola Hills Road one more time as we road back into Salem, Oregon.

In the Northwest, clear days in October are some of the best days anywhere for riding motorcycles.
